GO COLUMBIA ROAD JUICE COMPANY
If you want to know where the wild ones are, start by squeezing through the crowds in East London on a Sunday morning. The bright and beautiful are here for a fix, and it’s a green one. Columbia Road flower market, long established as a horticultural hangout, is home to the uber-healthy, uber-green Columbia Road Juice Company. There are no tables, no chairs and no benches. Instead, half a door, a tiny corridor and wheelbarrow loads of super-green veggies; celery, cucumber and apple juices galore, and all with an extra ginger shot. There’s hot toast and homemade marmalade in winter – made from juiced orange peelings, and any leftover fruit pulp goes to the pigs at neighbouring Hackney City Farm. Just our cup of biodegradable sustainability.
